Cards don’t have to be complicated to be good. Take this example – five stars on a newsprint background, and a little “Happy Birthday” tag. The only real bling is a giant grommit and a bit of ribbon.
To make the stars pop, I attached them with foam squares, and curled the points a little with my bone folder. Also, by matting the background paper before attaching it to the card base, I was able to let the stars extend “outside the edges” without actually exceeding the side of the card. This way, the stars won’t get smooshed inside an envelope.
